free falling

i wonder

what it would be like

to be a raindrop.

letting go

at a point of fullness

and descending

never knowing

where you'll land.

does it trust

the mysterious cycle

that will one day

find it back where it began?

hydrologically speaking,

free fall necessarily precedes,

and holds

in this timeless ritual

the deep yearning

for ascent,

for reunion,

to be held and suspended

in midair

until it is time

to let go

once again.
